The Center organizes career development events, and workshops in order to assist students entering the job market upon graduation. Students are instructed on résumé writing and interviewing techniques and are encouraged to attend lectures given by professionals working in various industries in China. Alumni frequent the Center, often speaking with students about trends in the Chinese job market. During the fall semester, the Center publishes a résumé book that is distributed to companies and organizations in China and throughout Asia and the U.S. The résumé book has proven to be an excellent way of promoting the talents of Center students to potential employers. During the spring semester, the Center hosts an annual Career Day in Shanghai. This valuable event gives students the opportunity to meet professionals and Center alumni currently working in China. Events include a series of panel presentations focusing on different career fields and the opportunity to take part in mock interviews with real employers. Many students make valuable contacts at this event, which have led to job offers following graduation.
