A highlight of the Center, the newly built two-story library houses some of the best resources in China on Sino-Western relations. Floor-to-ceiling windows and ample reading carrels, couches and meetings rooms provide students with a pleasing study environment. The uncensored, open stacks contain more than 80,000 English and Chinese volumes and 400 periodicals, including the International Herald Tribune, Asian Wall Street Journal, The Economist and the South China Morning Post. Computers in the library are connected via Nanjing University's network to the China Education and Research Network (CERNET), which serves the vast majority of colleges, universities and research institutes in China. All Center computers access the Web through CERNET. Access to electronic databases including LexisNexis and First Search is available along with access to the Center's Electronic Reserve (ERes) system which hosts course syllabi and readings. These resources may be used in the computer lab, from computers in the library and in the dormitories via wireless connection. The Master's student study wing is also found in the library. This wing provides all Master's students with individual study carrels, a shared kitchen, lounge, and 24-hour access while pursuing their degree. Additional Resources
